🛡️ Coverage Included With Every Move
Every move with Two Hours Movers automatically includes Basic Carrier Liability at no additional cost. This is the standard coverage required by federal regulations for moving companies.
Basic Carrier Liability
Covers your items at $0.60 per pound per item. For example, a 100‑pound dresser would be covered up to $60. This coverage is automatic and free with every job.
Basic carrier liability is not full replacement value insurance. For higher coverage, see additional options below.
Additional Valuation Options
We offer two upgraded protection tiers for customers who want extra peace of mind. These must be selected before your move begins.
Declared Value Protection
+$12 per move
Based on the total declared value of your shipment, coverage increases proportionally. Ideal for standard apartment moves with typical furniture value.
Full Replacement Protection
+$39 per move
Covers repair or replacement at current market value for items damaged during the move. Best for antiques, electronics, and high‑value furnishings.
What Is Not Covered
While we take exceptional care, certain items and situations fall outside our liability coverage:
- Pre‑existing damage: We document item condition before moving. Existing scratches, dents, or instability are noted.
- Improperly packed items: Items you pack yourself in inadequate boxes or without proper cushioning may not be covered.
- Perishables & hazardous materials: Food, plants, chemicals, and flammable items are excluded by federal regulation.
- Jewelry, cash, and documents: We recommend transporting valuables and important papers personally.
- Particle board furniture: Pressboard and ready‑to‑assemble furniture is inherently fragile. We'll handle it carefully but cannot guarantee against structural failure.
Claims Process
In the rare event of damage, we have a straightforward claims process designed to resolve issues quickly.
Report Immediately
Tell your crew lead before they leave. We'll document the damage with photos and notes on the spot.
File Within 48 Hours
Email [email protected] with your booking reference, photos, and a description of the damaged item.
We Review Within 5 Days
Our team reviews your claim, cross‑references our documentation, and determines coverage.
Resolution
Approved claims are paid via check or Venmo within 10 business days of approval.

Blankets, straps, dollies, and floor runners are used on every single job.
Trained Crews
Every mover completes paid training on proper lifting, wrapping, and transport.
Your Homeowner's or Renter's Insurance
Many homeowner's and renter's insurance policies already cover belongings during a move. We recommend checking with your provider before moving day. We're happy to provide any documentation they require.
